The 2024 Taiwan Innotech Expo (TIE), held on October 17-18 at Taipei World Trade Center Nangang Exhibition Hall 1, officially opened its doors under the theme "Smart Technology Island, AI New Era." Showcasing over a thousand technologies and research outcomes across six core strategic areas – Information and Digital, IoT and Beyond, Precision Health, Defense and Strategy, Green Energy and Renewable Energy, and Civil and Warfare – the expo signaled a new chapter of industrial innovation.
Caduceus Biotechnology Inc was invited to demonstrate a semiconductor-based system capable of simultaneously detecting four types of neurodegenerative diseases. By employing "digital" enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), the system requires only approximately 1/100th of the sample volume compared to traditional methods to detect the onset of neurodegenerative diseases. This implies earlier and more widespread detection of neurological diseases with smaller sample sizes, enabling early prevention and reducing the number of undetected cases. Hans Biomed's successful integration of Taiwan's semiconductor technology into the development of Bio-ICT products was fully showcased.
The product has completed its design and verification, and is expected to enter clinical trials in 2025. It is projected to be widely used in research institutions to accelerate the development of drugs or technologies for treating diseases in 2026, and to be officially used in medical institutions in 2027.
